My first time seeing a Black Swan. In the UK mute swans are plentiful and we see them all the time that they become insignificant. This was very different, it almost looks "wrong".

I wanted to continue a series of high contrast portraits and this was the perfect subject to try that out. I managed to photograph it against a sufficiently dark backdrop and then I dropped the exposure even further in post.
