This was my first real outing with my new lens, and encountering this Kestrel on a cold overcast day was a perfect way to test my new gear. With my previous lens I would have hesitated to take a photograph from the distance between myself and this kestrel, but I tried anyway. I was surprised to learn that the Fujifilm XF 500mm resolves so much detail that it didn't matter.
